Write for us
We welcome considered pitches and contributions about amateur sport participation, club life and the choices that help people take part. Proposals should give readers a clear way to understand a subject without relying on insider knowledge.
What we are looking for
Good proposals focus on one distinct question, explain why it matters to participants and offer a useful structure for answering it. We are interested in clear explanations, comparisons, background pieces, myth-checking and occasion-specific planning. Topics should remain useful without requiring readers to follow a particular competition or trend.
A strong pitch
Tell us the working title, the central idea, who the piece is for and what readers will understand by the end. Note the category it suits and any sources or relevant experience that inform your approach. Keep claims proportionate, explain uncertainty and avoid unsupported promises about results or performance.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please include a short pitch rather than a complete article unless one has been requested. A submission is a proposal, not a promise of publication.
Sport belongs to the people who make room for it
Taking part can mean playing, learning, helping or simply finding a place in a club. We look at the choices that make those paths easier to understand.
